Are You Running on the Wrong (Biological) Software?
Does this sound painfully familiar:
You’ve tried so many ‘one-size’ health solutions but nothing has felt right, or got the results you wanted.
Yet you know that what you eat and do impacts how you feel and perform, how your head and body respond, how your sleep, energy and mood are affected.
Something doesn’t add up and the health world has only wildly conflicting commandments: do this ‘one thing’ or follow ‘this magical diet’ or eat this ‘one magical food’. You feel confused and deeply frustrated.
What could be going on?
The answer could be that you’re running on the wrong (biological) software.
What the heck does that mean?
Here’s the basic concept expressed in the American Journal of Medicine:
“From a genetic standpoint, humans living today are … displaced through time to a world that differs from that for which our genetic constitution was selected.” [1]
There’s a critically important concept here regarding the health of modern humans.
Here’s an analogy that might help clarify the bigger picture.
A computer runs on special software that we know as an operating system, the program that manages all of the other application programs on your machine (Though increasingly, this analogy is perhaps more clearly applied to cellphones - either iOS or Android). To work properly, any additional software applications (or phone apps) you install, open and use—Word, Excel, Quicktime, etc.— must be designed to fully integrate with the operating system. This is eerily similar to the way the human body functions.
Your genes and your genetic makeup is an operating system for your body. This operating system supports resilient health when you’re running the ‘software’ for which your genetic makeup—your operating system—was selected. And while there are some genetic codes that result in a negative health outcome, those codes are far outweighed by the ongoing interactions between genes and lifestyle.
In a computer, the wrong software either won’t run at all, or runs but starts to cause freezing, lags, black screens and ultimately full malfunction. The strain on the operating system is ultimately overwhelming.
Physiologically, the same thing happens in our bodies. Fortunately, switching to running better software is simple, flexible and powerful.
Let’s consider an example from the realm of nutrition.
Nowadays, access to thousands of processed foods means we are exposed to the machine equivalent of newly designed ‘applications’ that even if they’re faster, engineered to be fun to use, and have fancier interfaces, are like running the wrong software for your biology.
And even if you don’t see or feel it immediately, they can eventually overwhelm your operating system—your genetic constitution. The expression of this breakdown in a human body can often mean some form of disease.
All areas of health are subject to consideration of a software audit, from (poor) sleep habits to the type and amount of movement we give our bodies, to the methods of managing chronic stress exposure.
Arguably, as a result of running the wrong software, humans are suffering a rising wave of health and wellness issues that shows no signs of slowing down. Though we’re in a time when new medical miracles arrive daily, chronic diseases—many of them nearly nonexistent a few generations ago—are rising steadily. Rates of diabetes, to take one example, have quadrupled just in the last three decades. [2]
Overall, as noted by a major US medical centre, “Between [the year] 2000 and 2030 the number of Americans with chronic conditions will increase by 37 percent, an increase of 46 million people.” [3]
So what can be done? Isn’t the solution too complicated to be effective? And aren’t we all just too different for any one-size-fits-all solution.
The beauty of the ‘right software’ approach is that it’s so simple and so straightforward. It’s a flexible framework, not an ideology, or diet, or dogma. It doesn’t count calories, have time limits or weird food restricting or combining. And it’s deeply and uniquely personal to you. In fact, honouring your genetic code can even include vegetarian, omnivorous or even vegan or carnivore diets.
Almost any switch to more appropriate software will likely yield results—many of them life changing. And it can be done in dozens of different ways.
There are many options for you to choose from, but the quickest way to effectively reboot your biological software is with a Full Reset. There is no other health intervention that can match the impact of a Reset.

My own experiment in the realm of ‘biological software’ unleashed some astonishing results (read more here).
The most memorable outcome came as a single, unforgettable moment that was so impactful it inspired my passion for health coaching as a platform to get this remarkable concept to others.
Of course, even in a computer there can be mechanical issues and failures with the hardware. Humans are no different. There are genetic variations that result in some terrible and challenging health conditions. But by far the majority of things that make us unhealthy are issues with software, not hardware. And we can change that.
If you’re tired of being unable to make any headway generating resilient health, good sleeps and consistent energy for all that life demands of you, then make the switch: run the software your body was built for. The results will likely astound you.
